H2Carrier are pleased to announce our project in collaboration with Pacific H2.
The project is strategically located on an island in western Alaska, called Adak. The profound onshore wind conditions at Adak and the sheltered waters of Kuluk Bay is perfectly suited to harbor a P2XFloater with sufficient nearby renewable power to produce 200 000 tonnes of ammonia per year.
The island is an old military base with existing infrastructure such as airport, roads and pier, which can be refurbished and serve as access roads for the power production and mooring point for the P2XFloater.
Together with Pacific H2, we will utilize the P2XFloater to produce fossil- and carbon free ammonia at Adak, with short trading routes to the Asian market and to Europe through the Northwest Passage.
We are looking forwards to develop this true energy island project further with Pacific H2 and the community at Adak.
Read more about the project on H2Carrier's "Projects" page or on Pacific H2's project page.
About Pacific H2:
Pacific H2 is a US-based energy company developing green ammonia projects as part of the global transition to cleaner fuels. Green ammonia has the potential to provide carbon-free energy for a range of agricultural, industrial, power, and transportation applications.
Pacific H2 will use renewable energy to generate electricity, which will be used to produce hydrogen from water. To facilitate easier, and safe transport to energy markets, the hydrogen will be synthesized with nitrogen from the air, to produce ammonia.
